Windstream Lexington NC customer service and support for home internet - Home Internet service


My mother lost her internet connection. She contacted the local Windstream office in Lexington, NC who told her the typical disconnect and reconnect the modem/ router. They then told her that the modem and router were working correctly. I called the Best Buy Geek Squad for a service call since we had that service established, and the Windstream staff supposedly had checked the connection. Yesterday, I paid $49.99 for a service call, only to be told that it was NOT a computer problem. The technician hooked up her computer to Windstream's modem and still could not get connected. When the Geek Squad technician talked to the Windstream staff, Windstream FINALLY admitted that they had turned off my mother's internet account, but did not know why, as her payments were current and she had not asked for the service to be cancelled. You would think that when my mother called the first time and they were putting her through the steps of disconnecting and reconnecting the equipment, that someone at Windstream would have noticed that the service had been cancelled and would have restored it on the spot, but no, they let her think it was a computer problem on her end. I expect Windstream to send me a payment of $49.99 for the service call since the error was on their end and should have been corrected during the first phone call for support.
